The aim of this research is to identify obstacles to women’s participation in the electoral process in Albania and how these may vary across the regions of the country. It assess the perceived role of women at every stage of the electoral cycle, the obstacles women face as voters and as electoral candidates. The publication identifies areas of best practice and areas of greatest concern. It can serve to national or international actors interested in elections, democracy and gender balance, to identify the hot issues, as well as high risks areas, in regard to women's participation in elections across the country.
