This manifesto includes a series of concrete recommendations to promote gender-responsive solutions to climate change that are youth-led, including innovative actions to push the climate and environmental justice agenda in the country.

This report presents the main findings, lessons learned, conclusions and recommendations of the Country Portfolio Evaluation of the UN Women Albania Country Office Strategic Note 2017– 2021, conducted between January and July 2021.

In the framework of the Gender Sensitive post-earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction project, UN Women conducted 10 Gender Sensitive Value Chain Analysis (GSVCA) in the earthquake-affected municipalities of Shijak, Durrës, Krujë, Tiranë, Kavajë, Vorë, Rrogozhinë, Kurbin, Mirditë and Lezhë. These GSVCAs identify and promote ‘win-win’ scenarios that guarantee market sustainability, and provide development opportunities that address problems in a value chain in conjunction with addressing gender inequalities inherent in and along the chain.

A media monitoring study was conducted prior, during and after the general elections in Albania in 2021.

This publication compiles and analyses the results of Rapid Gender Assessment surveys on the impact of COVID-19 on violence against women (VAW RGAs) in Albania.

EU for Gender Equality in Albania continues the standing commitment of the EU to support equality of women and men, and to strengthen the integration of gender equality goals into policies and plans at the central and local government in Albania.

This comparative summary presents key data on public perceptions and attitudes towards violence against women and girls and gender stereotypes in Albania based on the findings of baseline, mid-term and end-line surveys. The summary was developed by the Observatory for Children and Youths Rights in Albania, within the UN Women regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey “Implementing Norms, Changing Minds,” funded by the European Union.

“Women and Men in Albania” is published yearly by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) and displays data disaggregated by gender, aiming at the collection, analysis, and presentation of statistics by gender, and mirroring the social issues encountered on the cross-cutting policies monitoring, in the framework of achieving gender equality.

The National Strategy for Gender Equality 2021 – 2030 was developed on behalf of the Government of Albania by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in coordination and consultation with other responsible ministries, local self-governance units, independent institutions, civil society organizations, academia, as well as international organizations that work towards gender equality and ending gender-based violence and domestic violence in Albania.

The purpose of this study is to draft an analytical report, which can contribute to improving and raising the effectiveness of the Albanian legislation in addressing violence against women in elections (VAWE), as well as strengthening protection provided during the implementation of such legislation.

The report presents an analysis of the initial and differing impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on women and men in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, North Macedonia and Serbia . The report outlines government measures and subsequent budget rebalancing and reveals anlysis on the initial gender impact with focus on country specific selected sectors.

The purpose of UN Women’s Country Gender Equality Brief (CGEB) is to provide a snapshot of gender equality and the situation of women in Albania, particularly against the gender-related indicators across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Following the UN Women corporate methodology and template, and in consultation with the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Albania, the CGEB is based on a literature review and uses official data produced before (and partially during) the COVID-19-induced crisis.

This publication has been produced by UN Women Albania to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on main challenges faced by women and men, and how the changing situation is affecting the socio-economic situation and livelihood of women and men.

The report offers a concise, data-driven look at the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and issues a clarion call for stepping up progress to realize the promises of Beijing. It covers countries from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe region and it is based on available data and information in the regional and global databases.

“Women and Men in Albania” is an annual publication, which presents data on different areas of life divided by gender, in order to reflect the problems of society in terms of achieving gender equality.

In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the relatively limited data available, the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, through the Making Every Woman and Girl Count global programme, developed a rapid survey assessment tool to assess the gendered impacts of COVID-19 on the main challenges faced by on women and men lives and livelihoods.

Access to information and services is one of the many priorities raised by women and girls during meetings in the municipalities of Tirana, Durres, Lezha, Elbasan, Debar and Lushnja.
