The Referral Mechanism against Domestic Violence in Albania

The Referral Mechanism against Domestic Violence, is a dedicated mechanism that aims to protect and support survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. It is composed of a team of community professionals who have institutional responsibility to respond and address the various needs of survivors of domestic violence. Each member of the team plays a key role in the overall community response to the crime of domestic violence.

These mechanisms are formally established in 39 out of 61 municipalities in Albania. Strengthening and raising the capacities of these mechanisms, is one of the objectives of the three-year UN Joint programme funded by the Swedish Government and implemented by UN Women, UNDP and UNFPA in Albania.
