My body is my own! Young people in Albania give strong messages through their artwork

As part of UN Women Albania's "My body is my own" art initiative, 20 passionate young photographers and illustrators came together from September to December 2021.

First, they participated in workshops to raise their awareness and understanding about bodily autonomy, gender equality, gender-based violence and discrimination. Their artworks were displayed in three travelling exhibitions around Albania: Korça, Shkodra and Tirana, throughout the 16 days of activism.

The initiative was organised in cooperation with UNFPA Albania, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. This project was part of the UN Joint Programme on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Albania, supported by the Swedish Government.
