Call for expression of Interest: Pilot Training of Trainers to build capacities of local women councilors

UN Women Albania, invites Albanian nationals, that are current members of local government councils, trainers or experts working on gender equality, and specifically on gender responsive local governance, women’s political empowerment and leadership to express their interest and availability to participate in an in person, 5 days Training of Trainers organized on 9-13 September 2024, and commitment to deliver trainings organized by UN Women Albania on women’s political participation in the future. The roll-out of cascade trainings phase is expected to start by October 2024.
The ToT aims to create a network of qualified trainers on local political leadership and gender sensitive legislative induction training capacity building, and help build capacities of local women councilors, with a special focus on newly elected councilors.
Therefore, UN Women is launching a selection procedure targeting current members of local government councils, trainers or experts working on gender equality, and specifically on gender responsive local governance, women’s political empowerment and leadership In Albania. Up to 20 participants will be selected who will receive certification upon completion of the 5-day course. Full attendance required (40 qualifying hours) for further Certification by UN Women.
The course is interactive and will span five days in person (half days during the first and last day), with some preparation in advance. The training programme strives to provide knowledge and skills on three equally important functions for local women councilors: legislative, representative and oversight functions.

- The dully filled Application form (Annex A of this document)
- An updated P-11 Form (encouraged, although regular CVs are also acceptable), which can be obtained at: https://www.unwomen.org/en/about-us/employment;
- Two (2) Professional References such as supervisors, co-trainers or former trainees.
Language: Please note that the primary language of the ToT is English. Fluency in written and oral English is preferred, but not obligatory. Simultaneous translation will be provided during the whole event.
This activity is being implemented by UN women, in the frame of Women in Politics Fund (WiPF), within the Strategic Partnership Framework between UN Women and Sida, currently in its Phase 3 (SPF3 2022-2025).
