Comparative Factsheet Baseline Midterm Review Cover

The comparative summary “Perceptions of violence against women and girls” presents key data and facts on public perceptions and attitudes in Albania towards violence against women and girls, gender roles and stereotypes, based on baseline, mid-term and end-line surveys. It also reveals knowledge of existing legislation on gender equality and violence against women. The data was collected over three years (2018, 2019, 2020) and includes responses from 1260 women, girls, men, boys, aged 15-64, who live in the region of Elbasan and municipalities of Durrës, Korçë, Shkodër, Kamëz, Tiranë and Vlorë in Albania, in both urban and rural areas, including members of disadvantaged communities. The surveys were conducted by the Observatory for Children and Youths Rights in Albania within the UN Women regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey “Implementing Norms, Changing Minds,” funded by the European Union.
