A Survivor's Journey - Escaping Violence, Rebuilding, and Thriving

160 women survivors of violence and 277 of their children were supported by UN Women through the reintegration program of Different and Equal organization during 2021-2023. This is the story of one of the survivors as she broke free from violence and started a new life with her children. The programme was funded by the European Union.

As part of UN Women Albania's "My body is my own" art initiative, 20 passionate young photographers and illustrators came together from September to December 2021.

First, they participated in workshops to raise their awareness and understanding about bodily autonomy, gender equality, gender-based violence and discrimination.
